# Which types of company bid most on public tenders?

Measured on the 17,634 opening announcements Portugal published from 2 January to 7 August 2026, one of the few markets with a complete open register: construction companies lead with 3,532 announcements (20%), medical equipment suppliers follow (17.4%), then business and security services, cleaning and waste companies, vehicle suppliers, engineering firms and maintenance companies.
