# e-procurement

e-procurement is the conduct of a public purchase through an electronic platform rather than on paper: the notice, the tender documents, the questions, the submission and often the evaluation. Nearly every system named in this glossary is an e-procurement platform, which is why the word is more useful as a category than as a search term. The practical question it hides is which platforms a given buyer actually uses, because most countries run several and a supplier watching one sees a fraction of the market.
