Performance bond

A performance bond is a guarantee lodged by the winning supplier to secure delivery under the contract, typically 5 to 10 percent of contract value, released on completion. It is distinct from a bid bond, which secures the offer itself. The requirement and its percentage are in the tender documents, and they change the working capital a contract actually consumes.
