Direct answers · How competitive public tenders actually are
What share of Spanish public tenders receive a single bid?
In Spain, 38.1% of the 26,519 lots awarded through TED, the EU Official Journal, drew exactly one bid from January to July 2026, counted by TRINTA on eForms field BT-759, the number of tenders received that every award notice must carry. The median Spanish lot drew 2 bids and the mean 4.2; across the EU the share is 35.9%. This is the part of the Spanish market above the EU thresholds. Smaller contracts, published only on Spain's own platforms, are not in it.
